Hi, I’m Macie!

I live in Seattle with my dog, Levi, and work full-time in sustainable construction. When I’m not solarizing the city, you can usually find me poking around junk shops, reading nonfiction, diving into DIY projects, or knitting (shocker).

I’ve been knitting since 2007: for myself, for friends, under desks, in therapy, as therapy, during lectures, through joy, and chaos. There’s something deeply satisfying about turning a single strand of yarn into something beautiful and useful. It’s grounding, challenging, and a sensory reprieve. I want to share that feeling with anyone ready to pick up some needles.

That’s what this space is all about. Learning to knit can feel overwhelming at first, but I’m here to make it less intimidating and a lot more fun. Through tutorials, tips, and hands-on lessons tailored to your learning style, I’ll help you build skills and confidence, no matter your starting point.

Questions are always welcome (especially the “easy” ones). Check out my FAQs page to start. I hope you’ll join the Two Balls crew and start stitching your way to your next challenge.

I crochet, too (rarely)
